Lacey Charbert is an experienced young actress with a ream of acting and voice acting parts to her credit.
Born in Mississippi in 1982, she first came to prominence playing the part of Young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Misérables. As her acting career began to take off she landed some major roles. In the 1990‘s Lacey had a breakthrough role as Claudia Salinger in the TV drama series Party of Five. Cult and sci-fi fans know her for playing Penny Robinson in the 1998 movie version of the classic TV series Lost in Space. In 2001 she had a leading role as Amanda Becker in Not Another Teen Movie, in 2004 she played a lead role alongside Amanda Seyfried and Lindsey Lohan in Mean Girls, and in 2006 Lacey played Dana Mathis in the horror movie Black Christmas. Between 1993 and 2014 she either acted or did voice acting in 36 movies. During the same period she acted or did voice acting roles in over 55 TV series, video games and direct to video productions.
Lacey is particularly popular in the industry as a voice actor. Amongst her many roles she provided the voice of Eliza Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys TV series and movie, and the voice of Meg Griffin in the animated TV sitcom Family Guy. Hence Lacey has been incredibly successful in a relatively short time, and she is still a young women.
However, most important to Lacey is not a successful acting career, but her faith. She says, “Jesus is the centre of my life and I give God the glory for everything, for all my success.” A lot of young actors, both men and women, have considerable personal struggles as they become successful in the film or music industry, but critics have not been slow to notice the absence of scandal surrounding the life of Lacey Charbert. When she was asked about this aspect of movie industry life, Lacey said that her “Strong family life and a strong faith in God” have kept her safe in an industry where young actors are constantly faced with a quagmire of temptation. When an interviewer asked her to comment on the problematic life of her Mean Girls co star Lindsey Lohan, she was very gracious and said that Lindsey was constantly in her prayers. Lacey added that none of us is in a position to judge others as we all have different challenges to deal with in this life.
Lacey lives in Southern California, USA. An active Christian and regular church attender, she is also involved in a number of charities. Lacey is a very practical Christian who shows her faith in actions as well as words.
